Norchem employs BatchMaster Manufacturing for Microsoft Dynamics GP to meet the growing demand for ‘greener’ laundry chemicals

Norchem Corp is a clean technology engineering firm and global provider of green chemical programs, water technologies, and industrial software. The company recently selected BatchMaster Software to provide their Microsoft Dynamics GP system with a chemical specific, manufacturing application. BatchMaster Manufacturing for GP supports formulation, packaging management, inventory, batch production, quality, costing, lot traceability & recall, compliance, planning, scheduling, and mobile warehousing.

The BatchMaster Manufacturing application is embedded within the Microsoft Dynamics GP framework. Norchem recognized the value of BatchMaster’s technology because the application offered its users a single Microsoft login, a single GP menu and a single, centralized database to access real-time, granular manufacturing data using standard GP transactions.

Norchem produces its line of green laundry chemicals in their Los Angeles and Chicago facilities. Management needed a laundry chemicals erp software solution that offered a more accurate method to track its chemical inventory and costs within its facilities, including unit of measure conversions across purchasing, inventory and sales transactions. BatchMaster Manufacturing for GP enables Norchem to manage and track inventory in terms of weights, volumes and units, as well as lot numbers and costs.

The product development team needed tighter control over the creation and maintenance of its formula and packaging specifications. BatchMaster Manufacturing for GP considers ingredient UOMs and valuation methods, and labor costs during formulation to estimate the costs of both formulas and finished goods. Multiple formula and packaging versions can be created by multiple developers, then tracked and linked together to compare their physical property characteristics and costs.

Vaughn Minissian, Director of Operations, explains that for over 40 years, Norchem has prided themselves on providing the most state-of-the-art solutions for their clients’ needs, including its own line of ‘green’ chemicals. He states, “With the system’s ability to establish QC tests, inspection plans and checklists against deliveries, production and equipment, we can continue to ensure that our chemicals will meet our highest quality standards as we scale up production to meet growing demand”.
