Xseer Pharmaceuticals is a California-based, family-run 503B outsourcing facility specializing in the production of non-patient-specific batched pharmaceuticals, primarily nutraceuticals, such as vitamin supplements. The Need for an Integrated System

As Xseer began validating its nutraceutical products, the company realized its existing systems couldn’t support future growth or regulatory demands. Financials were managed in QuickBooks, while production and inventory processes were handled through paper-based methods or an internally developed system that lacked electronic batch records and regulatory compliance features.

Xseer sought a solution that could integrate with QuickBooks, meet stringent compliance standards, and scale with the business. After evaluating various options, including Oracle-based systems, MasterControl, and in-house development, Xseer selected BatchMaster ERP QuickBooks Edition.

“Anything that wasn’t compliant was immediately ruled out,” noted Bharaj. “We needed a solution that could work with us at the ground level and support our future growth.”

BatchMaster offered the industry-specific capabilities Xseer needed, from inventory and quality control to electronic batch records, all while fitting within the budget constraints of a startup. The onsite visit and live demonstration of BatchMaster’s functionality confirmed the decision.

What’s Ahead

With implementation underway, Xseer is preparing to digitize operations across its facility. The company plans to use BatchMaster’s barcode scanning, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and planning and scheduling modules to improve traceability, increase efficiency, and refine production scheduling.

“We need to ensure we have full traceability of all our materials, including raw materials, components, intermediaries, and finished goods,” Bharaj added. Once live, BatchMaster ERP QuickBooks Edition will provide the platform Xseer needs to eliminate paper-based systems, meet regulatory requirements for digital signatures and batch records, and support FDA and GMP validation. Ultimately, Xseer aims to expand its product line and grow its business nationally.
