"Software as a Service"
Some companies prefer the "Software as a Service" option, operating remotely from servers maintained by their Vendor or a “Cloud” service. One of those who decided on this option was Jet-Lube:

Jet-Lube’s head office location in Houston, Texas, makes them acutely aware of the possibility of disaster. For this reason, Jet-Lube opted for a hosted environment with sufficient redundancy to guarantee their new BatchMaster system was "always up". Mr. Wynne commented “Many of the solution providers we looked at were either reluctant or unable to provide a hosted environment – BatchMaster was able to do this." All three Jet-Lube international sites are hosted in the one environment, with a separate company database for each. The system is accessed remotely from each of the sites. Consolidation is done at the financials level.
